Cleveland Browns rookie DT Mike Hall Jr. suspended for five games after August arrest
The Cleveland Browns have announced that rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. is facing a five-game suspension.
On Tuesday, the team revealed that the NFL suspended Hall without pay after he breached the league’s Personal Conduct Policy due to an arrest on domestic violence charges in August.
At the age of 21, Hall was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List on August 27 after his arrest, which prevented him from practicing or playing in the first four games of the season. These four games will count as part of his suspension. However, Hall will be allowed to return on October 7, just in time for the Browns’ Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hall was taken into custody on August 13 in Avon, Ohio, after a domestic dispute with his fiancée, as confirmed by the Avon Police Department to the Akron Beacon Journal, a member of the YSL News Network. The police report states that during an argument about her daughter’s financial needs, Hall allegedly took one of his handguns and pressed it against her temple.
On September 19, Hall pled no contest to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct, categorized as a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Following this plea, he was fined $250, received a suspended 30-day jail term, and was placed on probation for two years.
Hall was selected by the Browns as the 54th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after his college career at Ohio State, where he participated in 28 games across three seasons, achieving six sacks and 11 tackles for loss.
