Columbus Crew vs. Los Angeles FC Leagues Cup Final: Viewing Details for Sunday’s Championship
The 2024 Leagues Cup final features a rematch of last year’s MLS Cup.
The Columbus Crew, last season’s MLS champions, will take on Los Angeles FC at Lower.com Field. This clash is highly anticipated as both teams have proven to be formidable opponents.
It comes as no shock to see these two squads facing off in the Leagues Cup final. They were viewed as Major League Soccer’s strongest contenders going into the tournament.
Los Angeles FC has performed exceptionally in the knockout stages, winning their four matches with an impressive aggregate score of 13-1. They dominated the Colorado Rapids, winning 4-0 in their semifinal on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, the Columbus Crew has had success against LAFC. Not only did they triumph in last season’s MLS Cup, but they also routed LAFC with a score of 5-1 on July 15 at BMO Stadium, marking LAFC’s only home loss in 2024. The Crew, with just one home loss in the season, advanced easily past the Philadelphia Union in the semifinals.
With their semifinal victories, both the Crew and LAFC have secured spots in next year’s Concacaf Champions Cup.

What is the Leagues Cup?
The top two professional soccer leagues in North America pause their regular seasons for a month-long tournament modeled after the World Cup.
Originally an eight-team event, the Leagues Cup transformed in 2023 into a massive 47-team tournament that includes every club from Major League Soccer and Liga MX. Inter Miami CF, boasting Lionel Messi, clinched victory in the inaugural edition of this expanded format.
Prior to last year’s tournament featuring all MLS and Liga MX clubs, the Leagues Cup was hosted in 2019 and 2021 with limited team participation.
A total of 29 MLS and 18 Liga MX teams were sorted into 15 groups across two regions: East and West. The group phase ran from July 26 to August 6, with the top two teams from each group moving on to the single-elimination knockout rounds that started on August 7. The final match is set for August 25.
