Sharing your location is easier than deciding what type of candy to give away and is compatible with both Android and iPhone.

Sharing your location on iPhone

If you’re using an iPhone and want to share your location with another iPhone user, the simplest method is through the Messages app. Start by opening the conversation with the person you wish to share your location with, then tap the + icon near the text box and select Location. A map will pop up featuring a Share option. Once you tap on Share, the other person will receive your location. This can also be done in group chats with other iPhone users.

When you’re ready to share your location, you can pick from three options regarding the duration: indefinitely, until the end of the day, or for one hour. Choose the option that best fits your situation.

If someone has shared their location with you, the easiest way to find it is to check your Messages thread with them. You’ll see the city and state they are in right below their name. You can also tap on their photo to view their precise location.

If you have several friends sharing their location with you, you can easily track them using the Find My app.

How to share location between iPhone and Android

To share your location in Google Maps, click on your icon at the top right of the search bar, then select Location sharing. Choose to Share location, specify the duration, and then select the individual or individuals you want to send the information to.

• Your name and profile photo.
• Battery status of your phone.

Another way to share your location between different devices is by sending a pinned location. However, this method does not update your position as you move, so it’s best for sharing a specific address. This is applicable when an iPhone user is sending their location to a non-Apple device. To send a pinned location, tap the + icon next to the text input box and choose Location. It will automatically set to a pin for users without iPhones.
