The Los Angeles Rams are facing another setback as wide receiver Cooper Kupp is questionable to return for the Week 2 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals after sustaining an ankle injury.

Kupp seemed to get hurt late in the second quarter while playing against Arizona. After catching a pass, he was brought down by two Cardinals defenders. Although he continued to play through the half, he was seen limping and was attended to by the training staff during halftime.

Upon the start of the second half, Kupp did not return to the field as he continued to be evaluated. The Rams ended up losing the game decisively, 41-10, to the Cardinals.

Details about the severity of Kupp’s injury remain unclear. Rams head coach Sean McVay did not provide information regarding the injury following the game. According to a report from The Athletic, Kupp left the locker room wearing a walking boot on his left leg.

No matter the seriousness of the injury, this is another setback for a Rams team already without Puka Nacua. The promising rookie from 2023 suffered an injury in their Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions when he re-aggravated a previous knee issue from training camp. Nacua was diagnosed with a knee sprain and has been placed on injured reserve, which means he will miss at least four weeks.

When Nacua got hurt, Kupp had an outstanding performance, recording 14 receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown. Before his injury against the Cardinals, Kupp caught four passes for 37 yards.
