‘Cowboy Carter’ artists set to make history as first country performers at Rolling Loud
The artists behind Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” album, Shaboozey and Reyna Roberts, are making waves in the music scene as they prepare to be the first country musicians to take the stage at the Rolling Loud festival.
The popular hip-hop festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary from December 13 to 15 in Miami, featuring many of the biggest names in music. This year will mark a significant milestone, as Shaboozey and Roberts will be the first-ever country acts to perform.
Rolling Loud posted a video on Instagram recently showcasing Roberts and Shaboozey expressing their excitement about this groundbreaking opportunity.
Roberts, known for her contributions to Beyoncé’s hits “Blackbiird” and “Tryant,” is scheduled to perform on Saturday, December 14. Meanwhile, Shaboozey, who appears on tracks “Spaghettii” and “Sweet Honey Buckin,” will take the stage on Sunday, December 15.
Other artists performing at the festival include Don Toliver, Kodak Black, Sexxy Red, Lil Yachty, Rick Ross, JT, Metro Boomin, Yeat, Lil Baby, and Bryson Tiller. Headlining the event are Future, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti.
Beyoncé released her eighth studio album “Cowboy Carter” on March 29, breaking several records and achieving historic milestones. Her influence is evidently reshaping the country music landscape and the broader music industry.
Before the album’s launch, Beyoncé opened up about her creative process and reflected on her earlier performance at the Country Music Association Awards in 2016.
In an Instagram post, she shared: “This album took over five years to create. It emerged from a past experience where I felt unwelcome. That experience motivated me to explore the history of country music and learn about its rich heritage. I take pride in how music can bring people together worldwide, amplifying the voices committed to educating others about our musical legacy.”
The 16-track album has sparked significant attention on Black country artists like Roberts and Shaboozey, as well as the genre’s deep roots.
Since the album was released, both Shaboozey and Reyna have skyrocketed to fame, showcasing their talents on numerous major platforms.
Shaboozey’s record-breaking single “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has dominated Billboard’s Hot Country chart for 17 weeks (and counting), becoming the longest-running No. 1 single by a solo artist ever. Additionally, he has received five Grammy nominations for the upcoming 2025 award ceremony.
