Dawn Richard of Danity Kane Alleges Sexual Abuse by Diddy in Shocking Legal Claim

Dawn Richard from Danity Kane files lawsuit against Diddy alleging sexual abuse

A well-known associate of Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly taking legal action against the music executive, citing incidents of physical and sexual abuse.

Dawn Richard, who was part of the girl group Danity Kane and the trio Diddy Dirty Money, has filed a lawsuit accusing him of 21 counts, including sexual assault and battery, sex trafficking, gender discrimination, and fraud. These details were revealed in court documents obtained by YSL News on Wednesday. The lawsuit, submitted on Tuesday, also names former Bad Boy president Harve Pierre, as well as Interscope Records and Bad Boy Records.

Diddy’s representatives have yet to comment on the allegations.

The 41-year-old singer recounted past interactions with Diddy’s former partners, Kim Porter and Cassie Ventura.

Richard described witnessing Porter appearing distressed after leaving a music studio in 2005. Additionally, she claims to have seen Diddy in a drug-fueled rage, where he allegedly assaulted Cassie by slamming her against a wall, choking her, and dragging her upstairs in his Los Angeles home while they were working on the Diddy Dirty Money album “Last Train to Paris” in 2009.

In her lawsuit, she expressed a desire to intervene on Cassie’s behalf but noted that fellow singer Kalenna Harper insisted on not getting involved and physically led Richard out of the house.

After participating in “Making the Band,” Danity Kane, which included Richard along with Aubrey O’Day, Aundrea Fimbres, D. Woods, and later Shannon Bex, achieved success with their popular song “Damaged.” Recently, Richard, O’Day, and Woods publicly supported Cassie amidst her lawsuit against Diddy.

On X, Richard expressed prayers for Cassie’s “peace and healing,” commending her bravery at that moment.

In June, O’Day commented on not feeling a sense of “vindication” in light of Diddy’s legal troubles.

“There’s no vindication when you’re a victim of someone. … The exposure of truths doesn’t alter your actual experience,” O’Day shared with People. During a December 2022 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, she also claimed that Diddy had fired her for refusing to comply with his inappropriate requests beyond music.

In September, Diddy, who established Bad Boy Records in the 1990s, came to an agreement to return the label’s publishing rights to all artists and writers associated with the company, according to a source familiar with the matter. Bad Boy artists, including Faith Evans, Mase, The Lox, 112, and the estate of The Notorious B.I.G., have reportedly signed agreements to regain their publishing rights.

O’Day mentioned in the “Only Stans” podcast that she did not consent to the terms of this return, as it necessitated a nondisclosure agreement promising she would not disparage Diddy or Bad Boy.

In Diddy Dirty Money, Richard, alongside Diddy and Harper, is remembered for hits like “Coming Home” and “Hello Good Morning.” She was also featured in Diddy’s 2023 album “The Love Album: Off the Grid.”
