Issues at the grocery store?

Many shoppers in the U.S. seem to be losing their faith in grocery stores.

A recent survey by Gallup shows that only 33% of Americans hold a positive opinion of the grocery sector. This statistic, released in September, represents the lowest level of satisfaction in over 20 years of polling.

Experts point to two main factors contributing to this decline in public sentiment: skyrocketing prices and negative media coverage.

Proposed bill may enhance some Social Security payments

Eileen Kleinman has long viewed it as unjust that her retirement benefits would be cut due to her job as a teacher. However, that situation may soon change.

 

Last week, the bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act gained enough backing to trigger a vote in the House, as reported by Medora Lee. The bill aims to eliminate both the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO), which currently reduce Social Security benefits for retirees who also receive pension payouts.

If this legislation passes, it will move on to the Senate for consideration to become law.
