Deion Sanders Predicts Shedeur Will Be ‘No. 1 Pick’
Many NFL analysts and scouts believe that the Colorado Buffaloes, coached by Deion Sanders, have two leading contenders for the 2025 NFL draft. Travis Hunter, a Heisman Trophy winner, is seen as the top prospect, while Shedeur Sanders is also expected to be a high draft pick.
Deion is confident that his son will be the first player selected in the draft.
During an appearance on “The Pacman Jones Show,” the Pro Football Hall of Fame member expressed his strong belief that Shedeur will take the top spot.
“Shedeur’s going to be the No. 1 pick,” he stated with certainty.
“If the [New York] Giants end up with the first pick, who will they choose?” Jones probed.
“Shedeur’s going to be the No. 1 pick,” Sanders reiterated.
As of Week 16 of the 2024 season, the Las Vegas Raiders are in line to secure the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. They share a 2-12 record with the Giants but are projected to win their next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. A victory would cause the Raiders to drop down the draft order.
Shedeur and Miami’s Cam Ward are considered the top quarterbacks in the draft, likely to be picked first and second if the Raiders and Giants are in those positions.
“The Giants aren’t going to trade their pick,” Sanders commented.
After his prediction, Jones questioned what would happen if the Giants select Shedeur first and the Raiders are next at number two.
“That’s when strategies come into play,” Sanders explained. “The Raiders might opt for Cam [Ward], or they could make an unexpected choice and go for [Hunter] or they could even trade down.”
