Can you thaw cafe meat?

When you return from the grocery store, Kramer advises keeping deli meats in your fridge if your intention is to freeze it, regardless of whether it was purchased in a vacuum-sealed group or cut at the desk.

However, Kramer advises melting the meat if you’re consuming it before a safe time ( the U.S. Department of Agriculture advises that you consume all open bundles of deli meats within three to five days ).

Do not thaw deli meat if it has been open longer than five days or has past its expiration date. Instead, you should discard the flesh, because you can not long maintain its health, she says.

According to Simon, including parchment paper between each slice of deli meat may help ensure the highest level of quality of the product when chilling it at the desk.
