Demi Moore shares her experience with a producer who pressured her to lose weight: ‘I took it to heart’
Demi Moore is discussing her struggles with body image.
The author of “Inside Out” spoke openly with Elle magazine about an unnamed producer from one of her films. She described how his comments about her weight made her feel “very embarrassing and humiliating.”
“I took it to heart,” she revealed. “It led me to a place of extreme self-criticism and harmful behaviors, as I felt my worth was tied to how my body looked.”
In the conversation, the star of “The Substance” mentioned that this producer advised her to shed pounds on multiple occasions.
Moore confessed to Elle that she experienced “a lot of pain I inflicted on myself when I was younger.”
At 62, she recognizes her body image journey in a new light. “We often focus on what we lack and overlook the beauty in what we already possess,” she stated. “I genuinely appreciate my body now; it’s about recognizing all the incredible things it does for me, rather than just its appearance.”
She added: “The more I value the lines around my eyes, the more I can appreciate the beauty of my life’s experiences—the richer my life appears.”
In a recent chat with YSL News in September, Moore discussed her emotional openness while filming intimate scenes with Margaret Qualley in “The Substance.”
“What drew me to it was knowing it wasn’t about showing off my (body) in the most flattering light, but rather revealing traits that might be perceived as flaws,” Moore explained.
