Injury Update: Chris Godwin’s Dislocated Ankle During Game Against Ravens
Chris Godwin, wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, had to be taken off the field on a cart during the team’s 41-31 defeat against the Baltimore Ravens.
The injury occurred when Godwin was hit by Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith with under a minute remaining in the game. ESPN opted not to replay the incident. Following a brief commercial break, viewers saw Godwin being transported on a cart with his left leg secured in an air cast.
This injury is a significant setback for the Buccaneers, who also lost fellow receiver Mike Evans to a hamstring problem earlier in the game.
After the match, head coach Todd Bowles informed the media that Godwin has a dislocated ankle and will be sidelined for an indefinite period.
Update on Chris Godwin’s Injury
In the closing moments of the “Monday Night Football” game, Godwin sustained a lower leg injury, leading to medical staff assisting him off the field.
ESPN did not air a replay of the collision with Smith, leaving the specifics of the injury unclear initially. Godwin was seen being taken off the field with his left leg in an air cast.
Bowles later stated to reporters that Godwin’s ankle is dislocated, and the prognosis “doesn’t look good.” His future status remains uncertain.
