Diddy’s Legal Team Requests Identity of Alleged Victims from Prosecutors

Lawyers for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs request names of alleged victims from prosecutors

Attorneys representing Sean “Diddy” Combs are seeking specifics about the evidence against him as they prepare for his trial scheduled for 2025.

In a court document filed on Tuesday, which was reviewed by YSL News, Combs’ lawyers wrote to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, asking for a decision that would compel prosecutors to disclose the identities of the alleged victims whose accusations contributed to the case against Combs. The 54-year-old music producer faces allegations of employing his industry influence to engage in a “frequent and widely recognized” pattern of abuse that includes sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitating prostitution.

According to Combs’ defense team, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York is against revealing the names of these alleged victims at this time.

In a letter dated October 7, included as evidence, Combs’ lawyers asserted that understanding the identities of the alleged victims is crucial for Mr. Combs to adequately defend himself. They stated, “To defend against the charges effectively, it is essential for Mr. Combs to know the identities of the alleged victims. Therefore, we ask that the government disclose these names.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has declined to provide a comment.

Combs continues to assert his innocence, having pleaded not guilty to all federal criminal charges while facing increasing civil lawsuits over the past year, accusing him of sexual assault, abuse, battery, and sex trafficking, among other allegations.

Diddy’s attorneys claim prosecution is making him ‘guess’

In their October 7 letter, Combs’ legal team requested any evidence collected by investigators that may weaken the government’s argument against him. This includes potential witness statements indicating that participation in his so-called “freak offs” was consensual, as well as details showing that the consumption of drugs and alcohol was voluntary.

Furthermore, they are asking for any instances where corroborating evidence for the allegations against him might be lacking. According to Brady v. Maryland, a significant 1963 ruling, the prosecution must provide favorable evidence to the accused.

His attorneys wrote to Judge Subramanian on Tuesday, “Without clear information from the government, Mr. Combs lacks essential knowledge regarding which allegations the government relies upon for the Indictment.” They further accused the prosecution of forcing him into a guessing situation, a challenge compounded by numerous baseless claims from plaintiffs in civil lawsuits who have often remained anonymous.

A bill of particulars outlines the specific charges against a defendant.

Over the past year, numerous civil lawsuits have been filed against the hip-hop icon following accusations from his former girlfriend Cassie, who alleged that he raped and abused her over ten years before their lawsuit was settled quickly. Combs’ attorneys informed the judge that just the day before, six additional lawsuits had been filed against him, asserting claims of sexual abuse involving a minor and multiple rapes that occurred from 1995 to 2021.

The legal team asserted that “Mr. Combs’ right to an impartial jury is increasingly at risk each day. His case is being discussed in the media by several anonymous accusers with unverified claims who seem to be aiming to profit from the government’s allegations.” They warned that this environment could “taint the jury pool.”

Diddy’s performances featured ‘clearly consensual sexual activity,’ claim his lawyers

Combs expects that “an abundance of evidence showing consensual sexual activity” will be presented in the materials gathered by the government for his case, according to his lawyers. He is alleged to have coordinated lengthy sexual performances, purportedly recorded, involving individuals he allegedly pressured into participation through drugs and coercion.

When the prosecution reveals its evidence, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams has stated that it includes “dozens” of recordings depicting Combs’ so-called “freak offs,” which his team believes will showcase “clearly consensual sexual activity.”

In a letter dated September 17, arguing for Combs to be held in custody until his trial, Williams claimed that his office possesses “testimonies from numerous witnesses and victims of his repeated misconduct, and evidence from many of his personal electronic devices as well as those belonging to his associates.”

Williams noted that investigators had seized over 90 cellphones, laptops, cloud storage accounts, and at least 30 additional storage devices.

A recent TMZ documentary titled “The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment,” featured one of Combs’ lawyers,

Marc Agnifilo proposed that Combs’ so-called “freak-offs” were merely “threesomes.”

Combs has been in custody since his arrest at a Manhattan hotel on September 16, and despite his team’s various attempts to secure his release prior to his trial on May 5, 2025, he remains jailed. He was arraigned the following day on serious charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitating prostitution, and was denied bail set at $50 million.
