DK Metcalf Injury Updates: Will Seahawks WR Be Back This Week?

This week’s standout matchup in the NFL occurs in the NFC West, as the Seattle Seahawks come back from their bye week to face the San Francisco 49ers, a game that carries significant playoff stakes.

Prior to the bye, Seattle struggled, winning just one of their last six games, with their latest defeat being a 26-20 loss in overtime against the Los Angeles Rams. Despite racking up 424 offensive yards—the second-highest for the team this season—Seattle missed their star wide receiver, DK Metcalf.

Metcalf has been sidelined since Week 7, when he suffered a knee injury during a match against the Atlanta Falcons, but he may return to action this week. Here’s the current update on his condition ahead of the Week 11 contest against the 49ers:

When Will DK Metcalf Be Back?

DK Metcalf will take the field this week against the 49ers after he participated fully in practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Details on DK Metcalf’s Injury

Metcalf’s injury occurred late in the third quarter during Seattle’s Week 7 victory over the Falcons. He was on the receiving end of a hit from Falcons safety Justin Simmons while catching a pass near the sidelines but was able to walk off the field unaided.

Afterward, he was taken to the locker room via cart and diagnosed with a Grade 1 MCL sprain. He was categorized as “week to week” and has not seen any action in the three weeks following the injury.

This is the longest stretch that Metcalf has been absent from games in his NFL career. Previously, he had only missed one game over his five-year career, which was in Week 7 against Arizona last year.

DK Metcalf’s Performance Statistics

This season, Metcalf has recorded 35 receptions for 568 yards and three touchdowns from 61 targets across seven games. He had a stretch in which he exceeded 100 receiving yards in three consecutive games from Week 2 to Week 4.
