Miamis Tua Tagovailoa placed on injured reserve due to recent concussion
Tagovailoa will not be back until at least the end of October.
The Miami Dolphins have announced that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been placed on injured reserve following his most recent concussion, which means he will miss a minimum of four games. His earliest return could be during the home game on October 27 against the Arizona Cardinals.
There has been no provided timeline from the Dolphins regarding when Tagovailoa might begin preparations for his return after sustaining the third confirmed concussion of his NFL career last Thursday during the game against the Buffalo Bills.
“Regarding Tua’s career, I think it’s essential for him to discuss that himself,” said Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel on Monday. “My primary concern is his well-being day-to-day. I’ll let Tua be the advocate for his own career and communicate about it.”
On Monday, the Dolphins signed Tyler Huntley to enhance their quarterback roster. Skylar Thompson, who stepped in for Tagovailoa during the Dolphins’ 31-10 defeat to the Bills, is expected to start this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
