DPR members discuss the Dream Reborn tour and their performances: ‘It’s more than just about you’
After a two-year break from touring the U.S., the South Korea-based DPR artist collective is back, aiming to refresh their brand. They feel more at ease this time, savoring every moment and entertaining larger audiences.
Newly joining their official lineup is DPR Artic, and they have named the tour “The Dream Reborn.”
“We aimed to entirely revitalize the brand,” Ian shared with YSL News during a backstage chat at The Anthem in Washington D.C. “Our stage setup is meticulously planned to showcase the new direction of DPR.”
The Washington D.C. concert was one of 12 stops in the U.S., where Ian, Artic, and DPR Cream interacted with fans. Cream remarked that the city brought back memories from his first visit in 2022.
“There’s a familiar vibe for sure. The chaos feels the same,” Ian noted. “The major difference is that we were pretty inexperienced during our last tour.”
Looking Back on ‘The Dream Reborn’ Tour
The DPR team is performing to larger audiences and attracting new fans.
“It just gets louder,” Ian remarked. “The fans seem to become more wild, louder, and more passionate, which we have always loved.”
This tour also marks the first time both Cream and Artic are showcasing their own music live. Since their last tour, they have released their debut solo albums.
“I’m extremely nervous,” Artic admitted. “It’s my first time performing an entire album. I put in a lot of effort to create what I believe is my finest work, and I want to do justice to it during my performance. The pressure is on me.”
Cream expressed he is gaining more confidence through the tour.
“When I step on stage and connect with fans through my music, it feels meaningful,” he shared.
Ian reflected on how the previous tour inspired him to create more music.
Now Artic feels similarly.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the love that fans have been showing me,” Artic stated. “I’m eager to produce more music and engage with fans through that.”
The Significance of Live Performances
The DPR collective is responsible for producing the stage visuals, lighting, arrangements, and ensuring a unified presentation while still allowing each artist to showcase their individual style and genre.
Artic is the show opener. “When setting my set list, I viewed it as an opportunity to warm up the audience. I see this as an introduction not just for myself but for the entire team,” he remarked.
The performances also serve as motivation for DPR artists.
“Performing inspires what I might do next as a DJ, producer, and creator,” Artic explained.
Ian concluded, “You come to the realization that it’s not solely about you, and it isn’t just your story.”
