Dylan Crews Joins MLB Ranks as He is Called Up by Washington Nationals
Dylan Crews, an outfielder who is MLB’s No. 3 prospect, is making his way to Major League Baseball.
According to several reports, the Washington Nationals called up the 2023 Golden Spikes Award winner on Friday. He will join former LSU teammate Paul Skenes as one of the 2023 MLB Draft selections now playing in the majors.
Drafted as the No. 2 pick in 2023, right after Skenes, Crews began the season in Class AA before moving up to Class AAA in June. He recorded a .271 batting average with eight home runs and 30 RBIs over 48 games with the Rochester Red Wings.
The 22-year-old right-handed batter is added to a Nationals outfield that also includes James Wood, who himself was a top prospect before joining the majors in June.
Crews was a standout for LSU during its 2023 national championship run, wrapping up his junior season with an impressive .426 batting average, hitting 18 home runs, and driving in 70 runs while achieving a .567 on-base percentage.
He is set to make his debut with the Nationals on Monday during their upcoming series against the New York Yankees.
