New Research Shows Plugged Wells and Decreased Injection Rates Diminish Induced Earthquake Occurrences in Oklahoma

Wastewater injection resulting from oil and gas production in Oklahoma caused a dramatic rise in seismic activity in the state between 2009 and 2015. But regulatory efforts to backfill some injection wells with cement and reduce injection volumes have been effective in lowering the state's induced earthquake rate, according to a new study. Ed Westwick Ties the Knot with Supergirl Star Amy Jackson in a Charming Italian Ceremony

Ed Westwick from “Gossip Girl” weds “Supergirl” star Amy Jackson in Italy

Here’s a grand crossover: Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson have just gotten married again.

The 37-year-old “Gossip Girl” star and 32-year-old “Supergirl” actress exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in Italy this past Saturday, as confirmed by Jackson to People magazine on Sunday.

This was the couple’s second marriage, having tied the knot previously in London earlier this month. However, the Italian wedding offered a setting of “romance and vintage charm.”

“We were looking for a wedding destination that was naturally stunning, surrounded by ocean views, hills, and vineyards, while also being unique, and we found exactly that,” Jackson shared with the publication.

Guests included Kelly Rutherford, Westwick’s co-star from “Gossip Girl,” along with model Daisy Lowe.

The three-day celebration began on Friday with a sunset cruise in Naples. “We sailed along the beautiful coastlines of Ravello, Positano, and Sorrento, then docked at Capri for a swim while the sun set behind the Faraglioni rocks,” Jackson explained to People.

The couple exchanged vows on Saturday at the historic Castello di Rocca, a fortress located in Abruzzo, Italy. Jackson described it as the “perfect venue” that exuded “old-world charm,” enhanced by floral decor that created an “enchanted” atmosphere.

Westwick donned a stylish suit by Giorgio Armani, featuring a white jacket, a black bowtie, and black trousers, while Jackson wore a bespoke white dress complemented by a 15-foot hand-embroidered veil designed by Alberta Ferretti.

In an adorable touch, Jackson’s 4-year-old son from a previous relationship served as Westwick’s best man. “We both wanted Andreas to play a significant role in this momentous occasion,” Westwick shared. “He walked down the aisle with me, held the rings, and waited for his mom alongside me.”

“It’s a lovely way to acknowledge their bond while ensuring he feels included in our celebration,” Jackson remarked.

The festivities concluded with a brunch at a beach club in Vietri sul Mare, located in southern Italy.

Westwick and Jackson first crossed paths in 2021 and got engaged in January. The engagement took place on a bridge amid snow-capped peaks in Gstaad, Switzerland.

Westwick is best known for his role as Chuck Bass in the CW series “Gossip Girl,” alongside co-stars Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, and Chace Crawford. Jackson, who began her career in Indian cinema, gained widespread recognition in the U.S. for her role as Imra Ardeen, or Saturn Girl, in “Supergirl,” which premiered on CBS and later moved to the CW.
