Barack and Michelle Obama to campaign alongside Harris in Georgia and Michigan

Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are set to join Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for campaign events in two crucial states next week, as announced by Harris’s campaign on Friday.

Barack Obama will accompany Harris for a get-out-the-vote activity in Georgia on Thursday, October 24. Michelle Obama will join her on Saturday, October 26 in Michigan, coinciding with the first day of early voting statewide.

No specific details about the locations of these events have been disclosed yet.

This marks the first time Michelle Obama has actively campaigned for Harris, following her address at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago earlier this summer. It will also be the first occasion either of the Obamas have campaigned directly with Harris prior to the November 5 election.

Last week, Barack Obama kicked off his campaign efforts again with a rally in Pittsburgh, where he criticized Trump, asserting, “There’s no evidence that this man thinks about anyone but himself.”

Earlier, at a Harris campaign office, Barack urged Black men who were hesitant to support Harris, insinuating that some might be withholding their support because she is a woman, encouraging them to get involved and back her campaign.
