Epic Universe: Get Ready for Universal’s Exciting New Theme Park Launch Next Spring!

Epic Universe, the new theme park from Universal, is set to open next spring: Ticket information

The excitement is building!

Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced the opening date for the eagerly awaited Epic Universe theme park.

Epic Universe will be launched next spring, just in time for the busy Memorial Day weekend, widely regarded as the unofficial kick-off of summer.

According to Karen Irwin, the president and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, “With this amazing new theme park, our visitors will experience a vacation adventure filled with excitement that will be nothing short of legendary! Our Universe will transform forever.”

The initial ticket sales for the park will kick off next week. Here’s everything you need to know.

What is the opening date for Epic Universe?

Universal Epic Universe is set to open on May 22.

Meanwhile, guests can preview the Epic Universe Preview Center located in Universal Orlando’s CityWalk, a space for shopping, dining, and entertainment that does not require park tickets for entry.

At the Preview Center, visitors will find a detailed model of the park along with an augmented reality app that allows them to engage with the model and discover more about the park using their smartphones. There are also photo opportunities and Epic Universe souvenirs available for purchase.

How will tickets for Epic Universe be available?

Ticket sales will begin next week, with additional options rolling out in the following months.

The first phase of ticket sales will launch on Tuesday, Oct. 22, which will include multi-day tickets and vacation packages.

Guests will have choices for three, four, or five-day tickets, with only one day allocated to Epic Universe while the remaining days can be at Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure. Tickets for Universal Volcano Bay water park can also be included.

Prices for three-day tickets will range from $352 to $521 depending on the specific dates. This equates to a daily cost of between $118 and $174 per park. Universal Orlando employs dynamic pricing similar to many theme parks. More pricing specifics can be found on Universal’s website.

Guests opting for multi-day ticket packages that also include a stay at one of Universal Orlando’s eleven hotels—three of which are newly built near Epic—can save up to $200.

On Thursday, Oct. 24, Universal Orlando annual pass holders will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase special priced single-day tickets for Epic Universe. Ticket prices will be disclosed on the same day. Each annual pass holder can acquire one add-on ticket per date, with a cap of six tickets per transaction to allow for shared purchases among pass holders associated with their accounts, as per Universal’s guidelines.

The resort has yet to announce when single-day tickets will be made available to the general public. Information on these, alongside other types of multi-day tickets, Florida resident specials, military deals, and Universal Express passes will be shared in the coming months.

To meet the high demand for the new park, the Florida resort is rolling out ticket sales gradually.

What attractions can we expect at Epic Universe?

Universal Epic Universe will showcase 50 distinctive, immersive attractions across five themed areas: Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

These attractions will include unique rides and shows, chances to meet characters, themed dining experiences, and much more.

Where is Epic Universe situated?

Epic Universe is being built off Sand Lake Road, which Universal states is a short 10 to 15-minute drive from their current theme parks in Orlando.

Getting to Universal Epic Universe

Guests will have access to free transportation provided by Universal Orlando, connecting their parks as well as the nearby Universal hotels with Epic Universe.

Universal Epic Universe’s Size

Spanning 750 acres, Epic Universe will be the largest of all Universal Orlando theme parks.

“Epic Universe is a significant addition, nearly doubling the size of Universal Orlando Resort,” said Mark Woodbury, Universal Destinations and Experiences President and CEO, in a promotional video for the park. “This expansion allows us to welcome guests to Universal Orlando for an entire week filled with incredible experiences.”

Will there be accommodations at Epic Universe?

Three hotels operated by Loews will be situated close to the park, just like the other accommodations on the resort property.

The Universal Stella Nova Resort is set to open on January 21, while its sibling property, Universal Terra Luna Resort, will arrive on February 25. Both will be categorized as Prime Value Hotels, similar to Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Universal Aventura Hotel. Currently, reservations can be made for these locations.

The Universal Helios Grand Hotel, part of Universal’s Signature Collection, will be located next to Epic Universe and will feature a private park entrance exclusively for guests. People can make reservations for Helios Grand starting October 22 for dates beginning May 22.
