Erin Andrews reacts to ageist comment about being ‘too old’ for sports broadcasting
The Fox Sports correspondent cleverly replied to an online insult.
Erin Andrews has proven that she remains a leading figure in sports broadcasting.
The Fox Sports NFL sideline reporter tackled negative comments about her age in a humorous post on social media recently.
“Erin Andrews is too old now,” tweeted user @MikefromManhat1 on Nov. 29. “You can clearly see the wrinkles in HD. Erin had a great run, but it’s time for a younger blonde or brunette to take over.”
The age-related comment didn’t seem to affect Andrews, 46, who humorously responded on X. She wrote, “You don’t even need HD to see them. But thanks for bringing it up, bud!”
The seasoned sports journalist and “Dancing with the Stars” contestant joined Fox Sports in 2012 after eight years at ESPN. At ESPN, she covered various sports, including hockey, college football, and basketball, and was a host on ESPNU’s “College GameDay.”
Throughout her career with Fox Sports, Andrews has covered major events such as three Super Bowls, 10 NFC Championships, and the World Series in 2014 and 2015 as well as MLB All-Star Games.
Her skills were acknowledged in 2022 when she received the Pat Summerall Award, named in honor of the legendary sportscaster.
