Daughter of former MLB pitcher Greg Swindell found safe in Oregon after extensive search
Brenna’s disappearance led to a large-scale search for the 29-year-old mother of three, who was reported missing by authorities in Austin on Monday morning.
Brenna Swindell, the daughter of a former MLB player, was found in good condition on Tuesday morning in Oregon. This discovery came after her family reported her missing in Austin, which prompted a multi-state search.
Brenna was not seen in the Austin area since last Thursday, according to her mother, Sarah Swindell, in a Facebook update. She is the daughter of Greg Swindell, a former MLB pitcher with a 17-year career who played at the University of Texas. The police discovered her in the company of her ex-boyfriend, Morgan Guidry, in her vehicle around 1 a.m. Tuesday in Klamath Falls, Oregon, as per a press release from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
“This is the news we prayed for. I’m so relieved to know Brenna is safe. I’m deeply thankful to everyone who helped find her, both in Travis County and beyond,” Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez commented.
Klamath Falls is situated approximately 16 miles from the Oregon-California border.
Accusations Against Swindell’s Ex-Boyfriend
Guidry has been arrested under a warrant issued by the Travis County sheriff’s office on charges of assault and strangulation of Brenna Swindell, classified as a third-degree felony. Officials stated he is still in custody as of Tuesday.
The alleged assault occurred on July 7, during which deputies responded to reports of a domestic disturbance involving Brenna and Guidry. However, it wasn’t until August 20 that Brenna decided to file charges, leading to an arrest warrant for Guidry on the charges of Assault/Family Violence/House Member Impeding Breath/Circulation, also a third-degree felony.
The search for Brenna began after Travis County deputies performed a welfare check at her apartment, following her parents’ concerns, and found neither her nor her vehicle.
Her father, Greg Swindell, reported her missing on Sunday.
“She has been located,” Greg shared on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter on Tuesday morning. “That’s all we can confirm for now. Thank you to everyone. And I truly mean everyone who assisted in the search.”
According to the Austin Police Department, Brenna Swindell and her former partner, Morgan Guidry, were last seen together at around 10:20 p.m. Thursday at Poodies Hilltop Roadhouse in Spicewood, Texas, which is roughly 35 miles northwest of Austin. On Friday evening, law enforcement tracked her white 2022 Kia Carnival with Texas license plate VFS 7528 to Colorado.
