2025 Nissan GT-R: No Longer in Production
The iconic GT-R, known as Godzilla, has officially been retired. The last production year for the R35 generation was 2024, ending a remarkable run since the Nissan GT-R debuted in 2008. To honor the legacy of this extraordinary vehicle, Nissan launched two special edition models. The Takumi Edition, named after the expert artisans who meticulously assembled the GT-R by hand, features a distinctive gold VIN plate in the engine compartment adorned with red etchings that pay homage to the Takumi craftsmen. These engines are claimed to have enhanced balance compared to previous versions of the GT-R. Externally, the Takumi Edition boasts a stunning Midnight Purple finish, while the interior is complemented with Mori Green accents. Key performance enhancements include NISMO’s carbon-ceramic brakes, striking gold 20-inch NISMO Rays wheels, broader front fenders, along with a specially adjusted Vehicle Dynamic Control System developed by NISMO. Meanwhile, the Skyline Edition is a simpler special edition, showcased in beautiful Bayside Blue with a Sora Blue interior. It’s going to be tough to say goodbye to the R35 GT-R, despite its once-dominant status fading over the years. We can only hope that Godzilla returns in the future, potentially in an electrified form.
