FIFA President Gianni Infantino Set to Attend Trump’s Inauguration
FIFA President Gianni Infantino is set to participate in President Donald Trump’s second inauguration on Monday, as revealed by the head of the soccer organization on his Instagram account.
This past weekend, Infantino posted multiple updates from the United States, including a photo of his Friday meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, along with content from Washington, D.C., on Saturday.
He noted that Trump has shown strong support for FIFA, with the upcoming Club World Cup this summer and the 2026 World Cup being held in the United States.
According to a FIFA representative speaking to YSL News Sports, “Mr. Infantino is spending additional time in the U.S. leading up to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and FIFA World Cup 2026.”
“The FIFA President often participates in meetings with global leaders as FIFA works to develop and promote the sport worldwide.”
The Club World Cup will kick off with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami facing Egyptian team Al Ahly in Miami on June 14.
Both the Club World Cup final on July 13 and the World Cup final in 2026 are scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
