First Aid Beauty recalls over 2,700 jars of its beloved repair cream
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has disclosed a recall for a moisturizer created by the well-known skincare brand First Aid Beauty.
This recall affects 2,756 jars of First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream in the Coconut Vanilla scent, which were mistakenly released for sale despite being marked for “quarantine,” as mentioned in the recall announcement. First Aid Beauty, which took the initiative for the recall, has shared a similar message on its social media platforms.
In a statement to YSL News on Thursday, First Aid clarified that the cream was available exclusively on its own website, FirstAidBeauty.com.
Which First Aid moisturizer has been recalled?
First Aid clarified that only the Coconut Vanilla version of the Ultra Repair Cream is subject to this recall; no other varieties are affected. The company noted that this product “was not meant for sale,” but did not elaborate on the reasons behind this designation.
It’s not uncommon for companies to quarantine certain products as part of their quality control measures. This typically involves isolating a batch for inspection during manufacturing, often related to standard safety protocols, adherence to legal requirements, or further analysis if there are specific concerns about the product.
The company indicated that they have already contacted the “few customers” who purchased the impacted cream and provided them with replacements. As of Thursday afternoon, the Coconut Vanilla option was no longer available on First Aid’s website.
First Aid Beauty assured that they have reached out to all customers who bought the affected cream and have sent them new products.
“We understand that the term ‘recall’ can be concerning, but we assure you that this product met our quality standards,” stated First Aid. “We are committed to providing our consumers with the best possible experience with our products.”
First Aid Beauty’s website states that all their products are meticulously formulated and “strictly follow five core standards,” which include using clean ingredients, being cruelty-free, safe for sensitive skin, dermatologically tested, and free of artificial fragrances.
The brand’s flagship product, the Ultra Repair Cream, is highly regarded and boasts thousands of favorable reviews across retailers like Ulta and Sephora.
