Flavor Flav Gifts Jordan Chiles a Custom Bronze Clock Following Medal Dispute

Flavor Flav is here to lend a hand once again—kind of.

In light of Jordan Chiles losing her Olympic bronze medal due to a surprising decision over the weekend, the Public Enemy hype man stepped up to present the gymnast with a specially made bronze clock.

Within hours of making the offer on Monday, the rapper shared a video showcasing the extravagant clock dedicated to Chiles.

“USA is gonna Fight The Powers that be. but in the meantime I got your back @jordanchiles,” Flavor Flav, 65, wrote in the post, referencing a popular Public Enemy song and mentioning his jeweler, Rock’n Stones.

Flavor Flav likely aims to soften the blow after the Court of Arbitration for Sport determined on Saturday that the judging committee during the women’s gymnastics floor exercise final incorrectly approved an inquiry that raised Chiles’ score and allowed her to clinch a bronze over Ana Barbosu from Romania.

On Monday, USA Gymnastics confirmed that the CAS would not reconsider its decision, reverting Chiles’ score back to its original and taking away her medal.

Chiles posted on her Instagram story over the weekend that she would be taking time off from social media for her mental wellness.

This marks the second instance during the Olympics where Flavor Flav has stepped in to support an athlete.

The rapper acted as a hype man and supporter for the U.S. women’s water polo team after three-time gold medalist Maggie Steffens reached out online for financial assistance. He has entered a five-year agreement with U.S. water polo, though the details remain undisclosed.

“Flavor Flav noticed the situation, and it resonated with him. He has really created an opportunity for people to learn about our team and connect with communities that may have never known about water polo,” Steffens shared last month. “That’s precisely what underserved sports like ours need.”
