Flogging Molly cancels 2025 tour due to singer Dave King’s ‘serious health condition’
Flogging Molly has decided to cancel more than 30 upcoming concerts in North America and Europe this year because their lead singer, Dave King, is facing a “very serious health condition.”
In a heartfelt message shared on their social media, the band said: “To our family, friends and fans, our fearless leader, the one and only Dave King, is currently fighting a very serious health issue. Dave and Bridget kindly ask for privacy during this time, and we will provide updates as we can. Any positive thoughts or prayers sent Dave’s way would be greatly appreciated.”
The band added, “Sadly, Flogging Molly will not be performing any shows in 2025.”
Still, other members of Flogging Molly will participate in the Salty Dog Cruise, which is set to depart from Miami on February 17 and will travel to the Cayman Islands and Jamaica throughout the week. This six-day event will honor “our captain, Dave King.”
The announcement regarding the Salty Dog Cruise stated, “With just 12 days until we set sail, the cruise will go on as planned with 18 bands and members of Flogging Molly joining to celebrate our community and our captain, Dave King.”
They were primed to launch their Road to Rebellion Tour on February 24 in St. Petersburg, Florida, featuring special guests The Aggrolites and Slaughterhouse. The tour was set to include performances in Richmond, Virginia; Houston; Albuquerque; Las Vegas; and Los Angeles.
In June, the band had plans to head to Europe for headline concerts and festival spots in countries such as Austria, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
Additionally, they were scheduled to perform at Rock La Cauze in Québec on August 8.
The Aggrolites, who were supposed to support Flogging Molly, expressed their support in an Instagram post, writing: “Our hearts go out to our family in Flogging Molly. It has been announced that their fearless leader, the incredible Dave King, is currently dealing with a very serious health issue. Please send good thoughts and prayers to Dave and the entire Flogging Molly family.”
