Mike Norvell addresses the shocking 0-2 start of Florida State’s season
After Florida State’s football season faced serious trouble just two games in, Coach Mike Norvell recognizes the urgency to find solutions fast.
“I’m frustrated with how this season has started. Last night, I let the team down in their preparation,” Norvell stated following Monday’s 28-13 defeat to Boston College, leaving the reigning ACC champions with an 0-2 record, both losses occurring against conference rivals.
“This was a football team that many expected to perform much better, so this disappointment is hard to take. However, I truly believe in this team’s potential,” Norvell added.
This season has not started well for the Seminoles.
New quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has faced challenges, leading some fans to call for his replacement during Monday’s game against Boston College. On the defensive end, the team allowed 263 rushing yards and two touchdown runs, with former FSU player Treshaun Ward contributing 138 total yards and a touchdown reception.
The performance was reminiscent of their season opener against Georgia Tech, where they also struggled.
“I know there will be a lot of criticism directed at this program, and I accept that,” Norvell remarked. “When we play like this, it comes with the territory. But it’s vital for our team to remain united and support one another. We’ve faced tough times before; we know how to rise again, and now we need to act on that.”
