Ford issues recall for more than 144,000 Mavericks due to rearview camera issue
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced recalls affecting over 161,000 F-150 and Maverick vehicles due to possible flickering parking lights and a rearview camera problem.
Ford is recalling 144,516 of its Ford Maverick models from 2022 to 2024 that come with the Connected Touch Radio, according to a report from NHTSA issued Thursday. The company stated that the “rearview camera image may freeze when the car is in reverse.” This malfunction can hinder the driver’s view, heightening the risk of accidents, the report explained.
To rectify the situation, dealers will upgrade the software of the Connected Touch Radio at no cost. Owners will receive recall notifications by September 30. They can reach Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. The reference number for this recall is 24S59.

Ford recalls F-150 for flickering parking lights
Additionally, Ford announced a recall for 16,543 units of its 2022 F-150 models.
The NHTSA’s report indicated that “the parking lights of the vehicle may flicker when the headlights are turned on.” This flickering can impair visibility for the driver, leading to a greater chance of a collision.
The NHTSA stated that the F-150 “fails to meet the standards set by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, ‘Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.’”
To address this issue, Ford dealerships will replace the LED Driver module at no charge. Notification letters for this recall are set to be mailed out by October 7. The reference number for this recall is 24C30, and these vehicles were previously recalled under number 22V-686 and require this new fix.
