Frankie Valli addresses viral Four Seasons performance videos, concerns about health

Frankie Valli is amused by the speculation surrounding his health.

The lead singer of the Four Seasons spoke with People to clarify concerns from fans about his health, sparked by viral videos of him performing. In these clips, the 90-year-old Valli is seen on stage, but perhaps not moving as sprightly as he once did. These videos have prompted comments like, “Whoever is sending Frankie Valli out on stage at this point is committing elder abuse.”

However, the New Jersey native dismissed these worries.

“I’ve seen a lot of comments online about me, and I want to set the record straight,” Valli remarked in a statement released on Monday. “I feel grateful to be 90 and still doing what I love. As long as I can, and people want to see me, I’ll keep performing like always.”

He added, “It makes me laugh to read comments suggesting someone is making me perform. No one has ever coerced me into doing anything I didn’t want to.”

Valli also addressed rumors of him lip-syncing during performances, explaining that he can still match the sound of his original recordings thanks to “60 years of experience,” vocal layering, and “great arrangements.”

“I genuinely enjoy what I do,” he stated. “And I’m confident we put on an amazing show, as evidenced by the enthusiastic crowds still coming out to see us.”

The Four Seasons is among the world’s best-selling musical groups, the inspiration behind the acclaimed Broadway show “Jersey Boys,” known for iconic 1960s hits like “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and “Walk Like a Man.” The band is currently on tour until 2025.

His comments come several months after he obtained a three-year restraining order against his oldest son, Francesco Valli.

In April, another of his sons, Emilio Valli, sought a domestic violence restraining order, which included their father as a protected person, following an alleged incident at Valli’s home earlier that same month.

A court ruling mandated that Francesco Valli remain at least 100 yards away from his father and his property, along with a no-contact order valid until 2027.
