Frozen Waffles Recalled Due to Potential Listeria Contamination at Major Retailers

Frozen Waffles Sold at Publix, Target, Walmart, and Other Stores Recalled Due to Listeria Risk

If you have frozen waffles, it’s time to check your freezer. Some brands of this popular breakfast item have been found to be contaminated with listeria.

On Friday, TreeHouse Foods announced a voluntary recall of its frozen waffle products available at various retailers across the US and Canada.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated in its recall notice that listeria monocytogenes can cause serious, and sometimes deadly, infections in vulnerable groups such as young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

This contamination was discovered during routine inspections at the production facility, according to TreeHouse Foods.

So far, TreeHouse Foods has indicated that there have been no confirmed illness reports tied to this recall.
