GameStop transforms some stores into retro gaming shops featuring classic consoles
GameStop is revamping select locations into retro stores, offering vintage consoles and beloved games from franchises like Pokémon, Mario, and Grand Theft Auto.
Even as gaming shifts to digital platforms, GameStop is committed to preserving classic gaming experiences.
The video game retailer is launching “GameStop Retro” stores in some locations, where they will provide older consoles and games for nostalgic fans.
In an announcement made on Tuesday, the company highlighted several classic consoles like the Wii and Xbox 360, which have been eclipsed by newer versions like the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X. These retro stores will also stock classic games from various franchises, including Pokémon, Mario Kart, Halo, and Grand Theft Auto.

Customers can click on “Find A Retro Store” and input their ZIP code to discover nearby locations within a chosen radius.
