Georgia Holds Onto No. 1 Spot After Close Call, Texas Rises to No. 2 in Latest US LBM Coaches Poll
The latest US LBM Coaches Poll has been released, bringing some changes at the top.
Georgia still occupies the No. 1 position, but their hold is less secure after a narrow one-point victory over Kentucky. The Bulldogs garnered 42 out of 55 first-place votes this week, enough to maintain their lead, though they lost a few votes from the previous week. Most of the votes that shifted went to Texas, which has now moved up to No. 2, surpassing an idle Ohio State. The Longhorns captured 10 first-place votes, with the Buckeyes settling for the remaining three.
Positions four through six remain the same, with Alabama at No. 4, Mississippi at No. 5, and Oregon at No. 6. Tennessee has climbed to No. 7, surpassing both Missouri and Penn State, who are tied for eighth. Utah completes the top 10 once again.
The remainder of the poll reveals only slight changes with few significant upsets. Arizona has dropped out of the rankings after a heavy defeat at No. 14 Kansas State, and Washington has also fallen out following a loss to Washington State in the Apple Cup.
Texas A&M reenters the rankings at No. 24, while UNLV makes its first appearance in the coaches poll, claiming the No. 25 spot.
