A New Canine Star ‘Bluey’ is Coming to Disney Parks and Cruises
Disney parks and cruise ships will soon welcome an additional furry friend, as announced by the Walt Disney Company on Thursday.
Bluey, the lovable blue heeler from the hit children’s show, is set to make appearances at Disneyland, Disney World, and aboard Disney Cruise Line ships, according to a company press release.
Starting in January 2025, Bluey and her sister Bingo will be featured on cruises leaving from Australia and New Zealand, offering opportunities for meet-and-greet events and interactive games.
“Bluey has become an iconic character for families globally, and we are excited to showcase her adventures in fresh and exciting formats,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, in the press release.
Details surrounding the characters’ appearances at Disney parks remain unspecified.
Announcement of ‘Bluey’ Film
This cruise announcement coincides with Disney’s recent news about producing a film centered around Bluey in collaboration with the BBC.
Joe Brumm, the creator of “Bluey,” is set to write and direct this upcoming film, which is anticipated to continue the adventures of Bluey and Bingo, scheduled to release in 2027.
“Bluey,” which began its run in Australia before being distributed by Disney+, was the leading kids’ show of 2023 and 2024 across various platforms, according to Nielsen data.
The series has garnered five Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards for “Best Children’s Program” and won an International Emmy Kids Award in the “Kids: Preschool” category in 2019.
