Want a hot dog with your vasectomy? Wieners Circle offers discounts for reproductive rights
A well-known hot dog joint in Chicago is getting politically involved as the Democratic National Convention takes place in the city.
The Wieners Circle announced on X that they are giving out free hot dogs to individuals visiting a Planned Parenthood mobile health clinic in Chicago, where services like vasectomies, medication abortions, and emergency contraception are available at no charge. This hot dog shop has also shared details of themed hot dogs and merchandise that take swipes at Republican figures such as Donald Trump and JD Vance.
“We support every decision regarding reproductive health—you decide, NOT the government,” stated The Wieners Circle in their post on X, accompanied by a video of people underneath their sign chanting, “Our (expletive), our choice!”
The convention is happening from Monday to Thursday at the United Center in Chicago.
Planned Parenthood bus providing free services and vasectomies
This year, Planned Parenthood has prioritized reproductive rights at the convention in Chicago and is offering complimentary vasectomies, medication abortions, and emergency contraceptives to those in attendance via its mobile health bus.
The Planned Parenthood Great Rivers of St. Louis shared on X that their bus will be stationed in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday to deliver these services, directly responding to the evolving situation regarding reproductive rights in the U.S. since the last Democratic convention, after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to reverse Roe v. Wade in 2022.
The announcement mentioned that the bus would collaborate with the Chicago Abortion Fund and The Wieners Circle. The Wieners Circle has not yet replied to YSL News’s inquiry for details.
