Engineers Revolutionize CO2 Conversion: Turning Emissions into Valuable Resources

A new electrode design developed at MIT boosts the efficiency of electrochemical reactions that turn carbon dioxide into ethylene and other products. As the world struggles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, researchers are seeking practical, economical ways to capture carbon dioxide and convert it into useful products, such as transportation fuels, chemical feedstocks, or even

Graceland Fraud Suspect Denies Charges of Identity Theft and Mail Fraud

The Graceland fraud case appears to be moving toward trial.

Magistrate Judge Annie T. Christoff of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee announced on Friday that a hearing regarding detention for Lisa Jeanine Findley would be postponed until September 20, following a request from the defense to delay the proceedings.

Findley faces charges of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft, which could result in a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison and substantial fines if convicted.

On September 10, a grand jury indicted Findley. She remains in federal custody and, during her court appearance, pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were formally presented to her, according to Judge Christoff.

Dressed in an orange jumpsuit over her clothing on Friday, Findley, who is 53, had jet black, curly hair and wore black-rimmed glasses.

She was arrested on August 16 in Missouri.

Lisa Jeanine Findley Accused of Using Fake Names and a Company to Take Control of Graceland

The allegations against Findley center on a fraudulent scheme aimed at taking control of Graceland’s estate and its assets from Elvis Presley’s family. Since January 2023, she is believed to have used multiple fake names along with a company she formed called Naussany Investments and Private Lending to support her claims, according to charging documents.

The aliases listed in the charges include:

  • Lisa Holden
  • Lisa Howell
  • Gregory Naussany
  • Kurt Naussany
  • Lisa Jeanine Sullins
  • Carolyn Williams

Details of the Alleged Graceland Fraud Scheme

Findley has a background tied to identity theft and fraud, with convictions dating back to her previous residence in Oklahoma.

The Graceland fraud case gained public attention in May 2024, following a notice published in The Commercial Appeal indicating that the estate would be auctioned.

This notice claimed that Promenade Trust, responsible for managing the Graceland estate, owed $3.8 million to Naussany Investments and Private Lending due to a loan taken by Lisa Marie Presley on May 16, 2018. It was alleged that Graceland had been used as collateral on this loan.

Riley Keough, who took control of Promenade Trust following her mother’s passing in January 2023, filed a lawsuit to prevent the sale. In the lawsuit, Keough accused Naussany of providing fraudulent documentation related to the loan and the outstanding balance in September 2023, and sought a court ruling declaring the deed of trust claimed by Naussany Investments to be fraudulent.

“Lisa Marie Presley did not take a loan from Naussany Investments and did not give a deed of trust to Naussany Investments,” claimed Keough in her lawsuit. She further described Naussany Investments and Private Lending LLC as “not a legitimate entity.”

The sale was halted by Shelby County Chancery Court Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins on May 22.

The situation took unexpected turns after that injunction, including the emergence of someone posing as “Gregory Naussany,” who initially stated that Naussany Investments and Private Lending were withdrawing their claims.

Later on, this “Gregory Naussany” alleged that the entire scheme to take Graceland was being organized by the “Yahoo Ring Leader of Nigeria.”
