Halle Berry Stuns in Historic 2002 Elie Saab Dress at Fashion Show
Halle Berry is revisiting her groundbreaking moment from 22 years ago when she made history in Hollywood.
On Wednesday evening, the “Catwoman” star made an unexpected appearance during the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event celebrated 45 years of the Lebanese designer’s remarkable work. Berry wowed the audience by walking the runway in the stunning red Elie Saab gown featuring a sheer bodice, the same dress she wore when she became the first Black woman to win the Best Actress Oscar in 2002.
At the end of the runway, after the announcer recounted the story behind her gown, Berry placed her hand on her heart, visibly touched as the wind swirled around her, making the satin fabric flow elegantly behind her.
Berry posted a video from her runway moment on Instagram, sharing her emotions about the experience.
“Certain moments in life occur that transform our lives permanently! Winning an Academy Award in my @eliesaabworld gown was one of those transformative moments for me!” she wrote in the post. “Thank you, Mr. Saab, for being a significant part of my life’s journey, as we have shared this bond for 22 years! It was a privilege to celebrate you and your remarkable 1001 Seasons. Wishing you continued joy, creativity, and glamour in your future endeavors!”
Berry also mentioned that this was her first meeting with Saab, despite his influential role in her career.
Since that iconic Oscar moment, her gown has been displayed alongside other memorable outfits at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
Performances by Jennifer Lopez, Céline Dion, and Camila Cabello at the Elie Saab Show
At the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab event, star performances were also delivered by Jennifer Lopez, Céline Dion, and Camila Cabello, who sang their biggest hits.
Lopez, wearing a daring silver bodysuit with a deep neckline, performed hits like “Let’s Get Loud,” “On The Floor,” and “Una Noche Más” with a group of backup dancers accompanying her.
Camila Cabello took the stage in a sparkling pink mini-dress paired with thigh-high boots, delivering songs such as “Never Be the Same,” “Havana,” “Shameless,” and “Señorita.”
Concluding the show was Céline Dion, who performed powerful renditions of “The Power Of Love” and “I’m Alive,” donning a dazzling sheer cape and matching gown from Saab, despite her battle with a rare neurological disorder.
