Halle Berry gives away her entire wardrobe for wildfire relief, following Sharon Stone’s example
The “Catwoman” stars, Halle Berry and Sharon Stone, are stepping up as heroes in real life.
Inspired by her fellow “Catwoman” actress, Stone, Berry shared an emotional Instagram video on Friday, revealing that she had donated her entire wardrobe to a Beverly Hills store called +Coop.
“I’m packing up my entire closet and heading over to the COOP! If you’re in Southern California, I encourage you to do the same. This is an immediate way to assist the displaced families who require basic necessities. Thank you @sharonstone for your inspiring leadership. Love you Lady ❤️,” she captioned the post.
Beginning her video, Berry referenced a saying from Meadville, Pennsylvania, quoting Margaret Mead: “Never forget that a group of thoughtful, committed citizens can make a difference,” while panning her camera over a room filled with donations.
As of Saturday, the wildfires in Southern California have resulted in the tragic loss of 11 lives and have destroyed many neighborhoods. Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone reported that at least 10,000 structures have been torched.
Many celebrities, including Cameron Mathison, Jhené Aiko, Miles Teller, Tina Knowles, Ricki Lake, Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, Anna Faris, Melissa Rivers, and Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, have also faced losses.
Berry and other Hollywood stars are united in their effort to support their community.
“Can I do tomorrow?” fellow actress Michelle Pfeiffer asked in the comments of Berry’s Instagram post.
Throughout the week, Stone has been actively promoting a donation drive on Instagram for victims of the LA wildfires at +Coop.
“The Coop – Please come and shop if you were affected by the fire,” she posted on Instagram, encouraging those displaced or their neighbors to “come here for clothes, blankets, shoes, or to make donations.”
On Saturday, +Coop shared on Instagram that they are still in need of donations for individuals of all ages.
