Houston Texans Cornerback Kris Boyd Pushes Coach Frank Ross Following a Penalty

The Kansas City Chiefs kicked off their divisional playoff game against the Houston Texans with an offensive drive. They started strong, thanks to a 63-yard kickoff return by Nikko Remigio, who advanced deep into Texans territory before being brought down by Texans cornerback Kris Boyd.

Kris Boyd received a penalty for tossing his helmet after making the tackle on Remigio, which resulted in a fumble. The Chiefs seized the opportunity by recovering the fumble, bringing them closer to scoring and leading to a 32-yard field goal by Harrison Butker.

Following the penalty, Boyd moved to the sidelines and pushed Texans special teams coordinator Frank Ross in frustration.

Boyd was later observed back on the field for the Texans’ kickoff after Ka’imi Fairbairn successfully made a game-tying field goal.

Who is Kris Boyd?

Kris Boyd entered the NFL when the Minnesota Vikings selected him in the seventh round, 217th overall, during the 2019 NFL draft. He spent four years with the Vikings before joining the Arizona Cardinals at the beginning of the 2023 season and eventually signing with the Houston Texans mid-season.

In his six-year career, Boyd has mainly contributed to special teams across 81 games. During this time, he has accumulated 105 tackles, three passes defended, two forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries.
