Hulk Hogan Receives Boos on Netflix’s First ‘WWE Raw’ While Advertising His New Beer
The excitement of “Hulkamania” was notably absent during the inaugural WWE Monday Night Raw broadcast on Netflix.
“You fans have been my best tag team partner through all the ups and downs, dudes,” Hogan addressed the audience. “Right now, I’ve got a new partner—Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer.”
The booing persisted.
“In the past, I’ve teamed up with many partners,” he added. “Fantastic partners like ‘ooh yeah’ the Macho Man Randy Savage. I’ve even had colossal partners, such as Andre the Giant. But the most significant partner the WWE has ever had is that tonight we are making history by teaming up with Netflix, our greatest partner!”
At 71, Hogan is a legendary figure in wrestling, with a career spanning from 1977 to 2012, during which he secured six WWE and six WCW championships over 35 years.
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, has gone beyond wrestling to become a well-known pop culture figure. He has appeared in commercials, TV shows, movies like Rocky III, and voiced characters in animation and video games. He also starred in his own reality series “Hogan Knows Best,” which premiered in 2005 on VH1.
His career hasn’t been without controversy, as he has faced issues involving steroid use, a leaked intimate video, and a recording of him using racist comments, leading to his brief suspension from the WWE Hall of Fame.
More recently, Hogan has engaged in political activities, supporting incoming President Donald Trump. He spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention, enthusiastically removing his shirt to cheers while rallying for “Trumpmania” to make a grand appearance.
