Inside the Festivities of Jingle Ball 2023: A Night with Jimmy Fallon, ‘Queer Eye’ Stars, and Meghan Trainor

Behind the Scenes at New York’s Jingle Ball with Jimmy Fallon, ‘Queer Eye,’ and Meghan Trainor

NEW YORK — During this festive period, Manhattan is alive with vibrant holiday activities, from skating at Rockefeller Center to watching the Rockettes perform at Radio City. Among the numerous holiday attractions is iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball concert, hosted by Z100. The event took place on December 13 at Madison Square Garden, which was completely sold out. The lineup featured pop icons like Katy Perry and Meghan Trainor, alongside rising stars Teddy Swims, Benson Boone, and Gracie Abrams.

However, Jingle Ball is not just about the music; it’s an iconic New York experience. Backstage, notable personalities like Robert De Niro and his girlfriend Tiffany Chen mingled, alongside two adorable “dog models,” Tinkerbelle and Belle, who also enjoyed a moment at YSL News’s exclusive photo studio. Celebrities such as Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon were spotted, the latter proudly showcasing a commemorative plaque for a hit from his new holiday album.

The event drew appearances from “Real Housewives” and “Bachelor” stars, alongside iHeartRadio podcast hosts like comedian Joe Gatto, who wore a vintage jacket that once belonged to his grandfather, and former “GMA3” anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach (Holmes mentioned he’s still recovering from an achilles injury and wearing a compression sock).

Amidst the flashes from photographer Josh Morgan of YSL News, stars discussed their past year and what they hope to focus on in 2025, as reminisced by journalist Tracy E. Gilchrist.

‘Queer Eye’ Star Reflects on Memorable Moments

“Was that here?” Jonathan Van Ness, 37, asked as his “Queer Eye” co-star Antoni Porowski reminisced about their return to Madison Square Garden. In March 2019, a now-famous photo of Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale kissing at an NHL game had Porowski seemingly caught in the moment as a third wheel. The incident quickly became an internet sensation.

“I love the Garden! The people here are always so welcoming,” Porowski, 40, said, much to the amusement of his castmates. “Any chance I get to come back, whether it goes viral or not, I’m all in.”

This gathering marked the first major event where all five cast members were present since the release of their ninth season on Netflix, as noted by Van Ness. Karamo Brown expressed hope that Netflix continues their series: “What we discovered this season is our passion for the work we do,” the 44-year-old declared. “Seeing everything through Jeremiah’s perspective made us recognize just how fortunate we are.”

“If Netflix will have us for another 20 years, we’ll stick around,” he added.

Jimmy Fallon’s Aspirations for the New Year

The host of “The Tonight Show,” Jimmy Fallon, has a packed schedule during the holidays with the launch of his new album, “Holiday Seasoning.” During the event, iHeartMedia honored him with a plaque for the success of his single “Holiday,” featuring the Jonas Brothers, which reached No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart.

“The album is just a fun, silly project meant to bring laughter,” Fallon, 50, shared. “It’s designed for families because I truly believe that’s what people need – a moment to relax and enjoy.”

Looking toward 2025, Fallon expressed a desire to focus on his health. “I’m not unhealthy, but I’m not super healthy either,” he stated, likening his goals to a casual conversation over brunch about dieting. “I want to get fit and start incorporating more cardio into my routine.”

When asked if he’d seek help from his athlete friends, he joked that he’s not close with “those types” of people but later mentioned he might reach out to Justin Timberlake for some fitness tips.

“I have the equipment – the treadmills and bike,” he noted, “I just need to start using them. I promise to do so this year.”

Meghan Trainor’s Aspirations for the Coming Year

Meghan Trainor, who released her sixth studio album “Timeless” in June, is already thinking about future projects. She expressed interest in writing new songs without a definitive timeline for their release.

“I would love to have another baby,” the Grammy-winning singer, 30, shared. She and her husband Daryl Sabara are parents to two children. “I’m looking forward to creating space for that alongside new music.”
