Details on the Assassination Attempt at Trump International Golf Club
The FBI announced on Sunday that it is looking into what seems to be an “attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.”
After a protective situation at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump reassured supporters through a campaign email that he was “safe and well.”
During a Sunday afternoon press briefing, West Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw revealed that a suspect was confronted by a Secret Service agent on the golf course, located about 300-500 yards from Trump. The agent had noticed a rifle barrel protruding through a chain link fence on the edge of the property.
According to Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump expressed his desire to continue playing golf despite the incident.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Department posted on Facebook, stating they had arrested a person “believed to be connected” to the shooting incident.
This incident occurred on the same day Trump shared a post stating “I hate Taylor Swift” on his Truth Social account, while his running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), noted he had “no regrets” regarding false narratives about Haitian migrants that led to several threats in Springfield, Ohio.
The assassination attempt took place at Trump’s primary golf club, which is situated only a few miles from Mar-a-Lago.
Who is the Custodial Suspect?
According to reports from The New York Times, CNN, and Fox News, the suspect in custody has been named as Ryan Wesley Routh. YSL News has not verified the identity independently.
