Jason Kelce Debuts New Christmas Song with Mt. Joy Ahead of Eagles’ TNF Game

PHILADELPHIA – Jason Kelce is closely linked to Philadelphia Eagles games, often participating in creative activities during events.

The former Eagles center, now in his first year post-retirement, performed his new song “Santa Drives an Astrovan” alongside indie rock band Mt. Joy on Thursday before the Eagles competed against the Washington Commanders.

Kelce, who was part of the Super Bowl 52 winning team, showcased his memorable voice, previously heard on two Christmas albums: “A Philly Special Christmas” (2022) and “A Philly Special Christmas Special” (2023). These albums collectively raised about $4.25 million for various Philadelphia charities, including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center.

On Thursday, Kelce also promoted his latest Christmas album, “A Philly Special Christmas Album.” Several Eagles players, including offensive linemen Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, contributed to his earlier albums.

Now serving as an analyst on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” Kelce was present for the Eagles’ Week 2 match against the Atlanta Falcons, where he energized the audience before his analyst duties.

After performing with Mt. Joy, he encouraged fans by stating, “we win as a team, we lose as a team.”

However, Kelce’s game experiences haven’t been without incident. On November 2, before a Penn State game against Ohio State, a fan insulted his brother, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. In retaliation, Jason Kelce smashed the fan’s cell phone onto the ground, repeating the insult, but later apologized on the podcast “New Heights.”

On the podcast co-hosted with Travis, Jason Kelce expressed uncertainty about the appropriateness of his song’s performance ahead of a crucial NFC East matchup. “I’m not sure if this is the right thing to do,” he said. “The Eagles are gearing up for an important game against the Washington Commanders, and me and Mt. Joy are set to perform a Christmas tune before kickoff.”

The single “Santa Drives an Astrovan” is set to launch at midnight ET on Friday, November 15.
