JetBlue lounges to open at two key airports
JetBlue is set to launch its first lounge by the end of next year as part of its strategy to attract more premium travelers.
The airline announced its intention to open a lounge in Terminal 5 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport by late 2025, with a second lounge planned for Boston Logan International Airport “soon after.”
“We have received requests for a JetBlue lounge for many years, and we’re excited to introduce our concept in New York and Boston,” said JetBlue President Marty St. George in a statement. “Lounges have become vital for an increasing number of travelers looking for premium services, and JetBlue’s lounges will enhance our TrueBlue loyalty program as we broaden our range of JetBlue credit cards.”
While JetBlue didn’t share many specifics in the announcement, it did mention that the JFK lounge will span 8,000 square feet, while the Boston lounge will be larger at 11,000 square feet. Both venues will offer complimentary food and drinks, as well as a variety of spaces designed for working and relaxing, styled with the airline’s signature colors.
“Our customers appreciate the JetBlue experience, so we’re bringing those thoughtful details found onboard our flights into the lounge environment,” St. George stated.
Who will have access to JetBlue lounges?
Once opened, JetBlue lounges will be accessible for TrueBlue Mosaic tier 4 members and passengers flying in transatlantic Mint business class. The airline also plans to announce a new premium co-branded credit card soon, which will include lounge access as one of its benefits.
Mosaic tier 4 members and eligible credit card holders will receive free guest passes for the lounge. JetBlue intends to offer day passes and an annual subscription for lounge access but has not yet revealed the pricing details.
