Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner finalize their divorce a year post-separation
One year after their split, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are officially wrapping up their difficult divorce.
On Friday, a final decision regarding their divorce was made, as confirmed by a review of online court records from the Miami-Dade County Clerk by YSL News. Specific details concerning the couple’s divorce settlement have not yet been disclosed.
YSL News has contacted Jonas and Turner’s representatives for additional information.
Jonas initiated the divorce proceedings with the “Game of Thrones” star in September of the previous year. His divorce petition indicated that their marriage had become “irretrievably broken.”
In a joint statement released after the announcement of their divorce, Jonas and Turner expressed: “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually chosen to amicably end our relationship. There are many speculative stories about the reasons, but this is genuinely a united decision, and we would appreciate it if everyone could respect our privacy and that of our children.”
The couple has two daughters, Willa, aged 4, and Delphine, aged 2.
During their divorce process, Turner filed a lawsuit against Jonas, accusing him of keeping their children’s passports and blocking their return to England, her home country. However, in January, both parties’ legal teams requested that a federal judge in New York dismiss Turner’s lawsuit, effectively concluding her case.
Legal documents submitted in a New York federal court indicated that a U.K. court had approved a parental agreement that the ex-couple submitted, which outlines a parenting plan that addresses the custody arrangements.
