An actor from “Joker: Folie à Deux” wasn’t exactly thrilled about his experience on the DC Comics film.

Tim Dillon, who portrayed a guard at Arkham Asylum in the much-debated sequel, openly expressed his disdain for the film during an appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

“I was part of ‘Joker 2,’ which just premiered,” the comedian stated. “It is the worst film ever made.”

“There’s absolutely no plot,” he told host Joe Rogan.

Dillon mentioned that he wasn’t the only one unimpressed; his fellow actors portraying Arkham guards shared their confusion about director Todd Phillips’ decisions, often commenting during filming, “This is gonna flop, man.”

“It’s not even something you can enjoy hating,” he added. “It’s that bad.”

“Joker: Folie à Deux” once again featured Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, who spends the majority of the film imprisoned and facing trial for his actions. Lady Gaga played his romantic partner, Harley Quinn. The reception was mostly unfavorable, particularly after Phillips chose to make the film a musical, relying heavily on existing songs—a decision that sparked debate. Polls from CinemaScore showed it received a disappointing “D” grade, and the film struggled at the box office, earning just over $200 million globally compared to the original’s more than $1 billion.

Regarding the film’s shortcomings, Dillon speculated that Phillips’ “hubris” led him to believe that audiences would embrace whatever he created, attempting to counter accusations that the first film appealed to “the wrong kind of people” and was about “male rage.”

Rogan, who hadn’t watched the film, suggested that it might have been poorly made on purpose as a prank since Phillips didn’t intend to create a “Joker” sequel. However, Dillon expressed skepticism about this idea. “If that’s true, it’s the most unethical thing I’ve ever seen,” he remarked, highlighting the film’s significant budget. “It wasted everyone’s time. Just make a good movie.”

In spite of the overwhelmingly negative feedback, “Folie à Deux” has garnered some supporters, including Quentin Tarantino. On the “Bret Easton Ellis Podcast” last month, the “Pulp Fiction” director proclaimed that he “really, really liked” the film, commending how it set out to provoke comic-book fans as well as Hollywood and Warner Bros. stockholders.

“Todd Phillips embodies the Joker,” Tarantino stated. “The Joker directed this film. The entire premise, including how he spent the studio’s budget, reflects how the Joker would handle money.”
