Josh Berry Emerges Unscathed After Dramatic Upside-Down Crash at Daytona Race

NASCAR driver Josh Berry OK after terrifying upside-down collision with wall during Daytona race

Fans of NASCAR were left anxious during the closing moments of Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona when Josh Berry’s car flipped in a crash and collided with the wall after sliding upside down.

The incident occurred just two laps before the end of the race, with Berry positioned towards the front. Berry’s No. 4 Ford lost control after being hit by Austin Cindric’s No. 2 car. This caused Berry’s vehicle to skid left, lift off the ground, and flip onto its roof. The car traveled along the track on its roof for a short duration before smashing into a protective barrier. The force of the impact made the car spin on its roof before it finally came to a stop.

A red flag was displayed, prompting teams to rush in to help Berry. Thankfully, he appeared to be alright.

Once the car was returned to an upright position, Berry was able to exit the vehicle under his own strength and gave a thumbs-up gesture. He was later cleared by medical personnel in the care center and even participated in an interview with NBC before racing resumed.

During his interview, Berry reassured viewers that he was “all good,” stating that the accident “probably wasn’t as severe as it seemed.”

In the end, Harrison Burton captured victory in a thrilling finish to the race.
