Julie Stewart-Binks Takes Legal Action Against Fox Over Allegations of Sexual Assault by Executive

Former Host Julie Stewart-Binks Takes Legal Action Against Fox, Alleges Sexual Assault by Executive

For the second time within a month, Fox Sports and one of its executives are facing accusations of sexual misconduct. Former host Julie Stewart-Binks has filed a lawsuit claiming that Charlie Dixon, vice president of content, sexually assaulted her in 2016.

In her lawsuit submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Stewart-Binks alleges that Dixon forcibly kissed her after pinning her against a wall in January 2016.

The court filing, initially reported by The Athletic, states, “Stewart-Binks tried to move past her experiences at Fox and embrace new opportunities in the sports field. However, each time she saw a former colleague from Fox succeeding on a larger scale while she was still focused on smaller markets, it left her feeling frustrated.”

The two individuals had met to discuss a Super Bowl 50 assignment. Stewart-Binks claims she reported the incident to the company’s human resources department, but executives “consciously decided to protect Dixon and allowed a sexual predator to remain in a position of power at Fox for nearly ten years.”

Dixon is also named in a lawsuit filed earlier this month by a former hairstylist, Noushin Faraji, who alleges that he groped her in January 2017. The lawsuit additionally names former host Skip Bayless and current host Joy Taylor, bringing forth allegations of sexual battery, negligent supervision, and wrongful termination.

Stewart-Binks was employed at FS1 from 2013 to 2016 and is currently involved with SportsNet New York, the Professional Women’s Hockey League, and hosting a podcast.

According to the lawsuit, Stewart-Binks faced humiliation during a meeting at a hotel bar, where Dixon allegedly criticized her by saying, “You’re not funny, interesting, or talented.” He also remarked that she was “not capable of managing significant moments on TV” and told her, “You’re not attractive enough to be considered a hot girl on TV.”

Later, Dixon invited Stewart-Binks to his hotel room, where, as per the lawsuit, he “quickly pushed her against the wall and restrained her arms at her sides.” The lawsuit claims, “With her arms forcefully held down and his body against hers, Dixon attempted to force his tongue into her mouth.”
