On Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris emphasized her status as a gun owner to the American public.

During the presidential debate in Philadelphia against former President Donald Trump, the Democratic presidential candidate stated, “Tim Walz and I are gun owners. We are not going to take anyone’s guns away.”

This remark came as a response to Trump, who claimed that if Harris were elected, she would seize Americans’ firearms.

This isn’t the first occasion Harris has highlighted her gun ownership. While campaigning for the 2020 presidential election in Iowa, she had previously mentioned that she owned a gun.

At that time, Harris stated, “I have a gun for a reason that many people do — for self-defense.” A former aide noted that Harris had bought a handgun years earlier and kept it secured.
