## Kamala Harris Laughs It Up on SNL, Offers Election Advice
Vice President Kamala Harris surprised viewers on Saturday Night Live, appearing just days before Election Day.
Harris joined comedian Maya Rudolph, who played a comedic version of herself, in a sketch reflecting on the challenges of running for president. Rudolph’s Harris wished for advice from someone who’d walked in her shoes, a Black, South Asian woman running for president.
Enter the real Kamala Harris, appearing beside Rudolph in a mirror-like setup. The audience erupted in cheers, making it difficult to hear Harris’ initial lines.
Rudolph’s Harris, prepping for a Pennsylvania rally, asked, “Who’s been in my shoes, a Black, South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area?”
Harris, chuckling, responded, “You and me both, sista. It is nice to see you, Kamala, and I’m just here to remind you, ‘You got this,’ because you can do something your opponent cannot do. You can open doors.”
She referenced a recent video showing former President Donald Trump struggling to open a garbage truck door, highlighting Harris’ ability to connect with voters.
Throughout the sketch, Harris laughed along with Rudolph’s impersonation, playfully commenting, “I don’t really laugh like that, do I?”
They playfully riffed on Harris’ name, which Trump has repeatedly mispronounced, offering humorous suggestions like “Take my palm-ala” and “Kick back in our pajam-alas.”
The two Kamalas ended the sketch with a signature “SNL” line: “And live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
This surprise appearance comes as Harris campaigns in key battleground states, aiming to secure undecided voters in the tight race against Trump.
