Learn How to Keep Your Kids Focused in One App on iPhone and iPad
Parents, have you ever started a game or show for your kids, only to see them wander off into another app? There’s a simple solution to stop this from happening and keep them engaged in one app.
Introducing Guided Access — a feature that essentially locks your device to one app. It allows you to manage certain features, like turning off the volume buttons, setting a time limit, and stopping screen touches.
Check out this video to discover how to set up Guided Access on your iPhone or iPad.
Step-by-Step Guide to Using Guided Access
To activate Guided Access, navigate to the Accessibility settings on your device and turn it on.
With the feature enabled, you can triple press the lock button to use it. You’ll then be able to adjust settings such as disabling parts of the screen or locking the volume buttons, followed by tapping Start. A passcode is required to end the Guided Access session, and it does not have to be the same as your regular unlock code.
To conclude the session, triple press the lock button again and enter the passcode, or you can double tap to exit using Face ID.
Adjustments to the passcode settings can be made within the Guided Access options.

Managing Screen Time
An additional feature to help manage how kids use their devices is the Screen Time settings.
You might be familiar with this option, as it allows for setting time limits on various app categories. However, there are also additional features worth exploring, such as options to restrict sending or receiving sensitive content and managing who your child can contact at different times of the day.
